Mid Century Sascha Brastoff Pitcher Hand Painted with Decorated Camels 1950’s

Gilding, blue, yellow and black glazes together form the camel painting with its trappings. The image has a water color like effect with a blurring of the edges. Small trees by the handle are embellished with plumes of white. Reserve spots on the background look like falling snow.   A stamped gold mark on the base reads “Sascha Brastoff CALIFORNIA USA B54” with a rooster above. A portion of the S from “Sascha” is missing. Sascha Brastoff, ( 1917-1993 ) was one of the most famous names in pottery during the 1950's and this is a very fine example of his ceramic artistry.   MEASUREMENTS
