A molded pair of ceramic Chinese figures of scholars resting on rocks and holding books. The scholars have Ming hats and robes. The robes have very muted colors. The details of the figures were sculpted by hand and show much attention to detail. The bases are unglazed and are impressed with the word CHINA. They have remnants of old paper labels on the backs that read “MADE IN CHINA CYK – 654”. MEASUREMENTS Green robed figure - 4 ½” (11.4 cm) tall x 2 3/4” (7.0 cm) deep x 2” (5.1 cm) wide Yellow robed figure - 4 ½” (11.4 cm) tall x 2 3/4” (7.0 cm) deep x 2 1/4” (5.7 cm) wide Weighs 13.8 oz (390 g) CONDITION The heads of both figures appear to have broken off and been re-glued. There is a tiny piece of the collar missing and a tiny chip on the edge of the green robe. The figure with the green robe also has a couple of chips along the base.
