Pair of Lamp of Knowledge Bookends Cast Iron Judd 1926

A heavy pair of cast iron bookends by Judd with an Art Deco inspired design of owls of wisdom. The owl’ wings are outstretched and the are perched underneath the lamp of knowledge. The owls and lamp have been given a red patina. The rest of the bookends have a dark bronze color.  The back has a hammered looking surface. They have no felt on the flat bases. The number 9886 is stamped on the lower back edge of both. MEASUREMENTS4 ¾ in (12.4 cm) wide x 2 ½ in (6.4 cm) deep x 4 ½ in (11.4 cm) tall. Weighs 3 lbs 5.5 oz (1515 g) CONDITIONThere are no cracks, dents, breaks, or chips. There is some loss to the red patina and some oxidation. They have an old aged look. An artistic pair of bookends to add to a collection or use to hold books up.
