A heavy and useful pair of cast iron bookends with a design of a grazing horse without a rider. This refers to a soldier fallen in battle. The detail is deep, and the iron has been given a gold color. They have flat bases with no felts. The bookends are unmarked.  MEASUREMENTS  4 ½” (11.4 cm) long x 1 ¼” (3.2 cm) deep x 3 ¾” (9.5 cm) tall. Weighs 2 lbs 0.9 oz (935 g) CONDITION There are no chips, cracks, dents or breaks. There is wear to the gold patina. There is a bit of red paint on the bottom of one bookend and the horse's neck on the other one. A nice heavy pair of horse bookends to use or add to a collection. They’d be a great addition to either a military or western theme.
