 
                                        Three Chinese Kangxi Blue and White Saucers 18th Century
Three thinly potted blue and white Chinese Kangxi Period saucers with hand-painted designs of landscapes, flowers and people. One saucer has a boy with a flower that looks bigger than he is, a slightly ribbed cavetto and painted flower stems on the outside. The second saucer has a pair of dancers in the center medallion surrounded by six panels with flowers, and a barbed rim. This saucer also has a slightly ribbed cavetto. The third and smallest saucer has a flower in the center medallion, surrounded by six panels that alternate between flowers and landscapes. The saucers have a dark blue cobalt underglaze and a blue-tinged glaze. The glazes feel thick and unctuous. The bases are glazed and unmarked. The sharp unglazed foot rings have sand adhering to them. The clay is very white and refined. MEASUREMENTS Saucer with boy with flower – 4 ¼” (10.8 cm) diameter x ¾” (1.9 cm) tall.
