10 Cooper
Cooper's story: The second horse, is Cooper. Cooper is actually Shorty’s first offspring that he sired, so he’s special in that regard. I remember when Cooper was born though, his “mom” (he was born via a surrogate) colicked really bad, and we weren’t sure if she was going to make it. It was prior to finals that he was born (pre-law school days), so after class and work, I would spend my afternoons in the barn studying. Keeping an eye on the mare and Cooper until the next shift (when either my mom or the vet tech we’re able to come and watch over things). I was able to feed him a few bottles before he wanted nothing to do with a bottle. Everything ended well (thankfully), and Cooper eventually went to training in N.C., at the same facility Shorty is stabled. I started riding him as a four year old, and have shown him as well. Although he isn’t the first foal that we bred, raised, and showed, but he is the first that I had a more active role in raising him. He has a big heart and tries
