The Ideal Self

Oil, oil pastels and spray paint on wood board 10x10 Today’s dating culture, and my perception of “self” as a single woman, has changed a lot in both good and bad ways. For me, this piece is a funny way of being like “look, I love myself, but I also don’t give a fuck what you think of me.” It doesn’t matter if I’m “fit” or have big tits, or a giant nose ring, this is me. I am this funny, cute, little stick figure drawing. It’s my inner child drawing my adult self laughing to herself and asking “when did I get boobs?”
