Anemia Panel
Consisting of CBC, Iron, Iron binding capacity, Ferritin, Folate, B12, Reticulocyte count CBC: To determine general health status; to screen for, diagnose, or monitor any variety of diseases and conditions that affect blood cells, to include anemia, infection, inflammation, bleeding disorder or cancer. Iron and Iron binding capacity: To assess body’s total iron store and ability to transport iron in the blood. Ferritin: To determine body’s total iron storage capacity. Folate & B12: To help diagnose one cause of anemia or neuropathy; to evaluate nutritional status in some people; to monitor effectiveness of treatment for vitamin B12 or folate deficiency. Reticulocyte Count: To determine if the body is adequately producing red blood cells.
