Cotoneaster 'Tom Thumb'
Pre-order now for delivery in April-May! A compact, creeping groundcover shrub that adds rich foliage color and seasonal interest to small spaces. Tom Thumb Cotoneaster is a dense, low-growing, spreading deciduous shrub that typically reaches only 12–24 inches tall but can spread 4–6 feet wide over time. Its finely textured, glossy dark green leaves create a tidy mat through the growing season and turn vibrant red to burgundy in fall, providing strong autumn color. In late spring, small pink flowers appear along the stems and are followed by bright red berries in fall that add ornamental interest. Planting: Plant in full sun to partial sun for best growth and fall color. Space plants about 3 feet apart to allow for spreading. It grows well in average, well-drained soil and tolerates a range of soil conditions once established. Its low, spreading habit makes it ideal for groundcover, slopes, rock gardens, and edging, especially in smaller landscapes. Arrives to you in a 2 gallon pot.
