Commonly called black cumin or black seed, Nigella sativa is an annual herb grown for its delicate flowers and flavorful seeds. Plants produce upright stems with finely divided, feathery foliage and typically grow about 8–24 inches tall. In early to mid-summer, pale blue to white flowers appear, followed by distinctive inflated seed pods that contain small black seeds used as a spice. Black cumin grows best in full sun and well-drained soil. It is easy to grow in herb gardens, cottage gardens, and borders, where the flowers and decorative seed pods add ornamental interest. Arrives to you in a 4" pot.
