The Amy Weingartner Branigin Peninsula Preserve is a wonderful wooded hiking trail that delivers you onto a beautiful secluded beach on Lake Monroe. While this is a newer Sycamore Land Trust property, it has quickly won the hearts of Hoosiers! Residents of Bloomington and nearby Southern Indiana towns who visit the peninsula preserve are treated to a birder's paradise of woodland songbirds and hawks, as well as eagles, ducks and other waterfowl. And even if you aren't much of a birder, the spring wildflowers and the chance to cross paths with a box turtle or other woodland creature will make for a memorable nature outing!
