  Description BlueTex™ spacers are made from industrial quality extruded HDPE to create a ½” airspace between the foil surface of your BlueTex™ insulation and the HOT exterior layer (typically metal sheeting). The foil side of your BlueTex™ insulation MUST face an airspace to reflect 97% of the radiant heat! The 2” width of these spacers fits perfectly on tubular steel, Z purlins, or C purlins. The spacers create a solid surface to eliminate any deflection or “dimpling” of the metal skin. When BlueTex™ is installed with an airspace, the foil side creates “instant shade” for your building. Installing the foil in direct contact with the metal exterior will LOSE the benefit of the foil being able to reflect heat (the foil will actually become a conductor of heat if you sandwich it).
