York Street: oil painting

This painting measures 48" x 48." It was hand painted in oil on linen in 2016. |||| Walking down York Street in New Haven on a cold November night, I was experimenting with various techniques for using my camera’s lense for mark making. By sustaining & restricting camera motion, I generated some very orderly stretched images. The green patch in the upper-right corner is from Toad’s Place (“Where the legends play”). Mory’s Temple Bar lays just beyond. Yale University is off-camera to the right.
