Why Yemanja?: Our Yemanja candle represents Orixa music, originating from Yoruba religion in West Africa. Over time, Yoruba would evolve into Candomblé in Brazil (where we take our spellings from) and Santería in Cuba. On the Continent, Yemanja is the Orixa of rivers and fresh water, whereas in Brazil and Cuba she is revered as the mother of the oceans.
