a hitch in time plate

Incredibly sweet Royal Winton Grimwades plate. This cream colored plate is painted with an orange border and decorated with an illustration of a happy-go-lucky hitch hiking couple captioned with "A hitch in time saves nine." Made in England c.1930. Wonderful detailing. In excellent condition. Some crazing due to age.  Measurements: 7" l x 7" w x .25" t Grimwades ltd. was founded by a brother duo in Stoke-On-Trent in 1885. They went on to produce fine china under the name Royal Winton. Their patterns and products were hugely popular and they even supplied to Queen Mary in the early 1910s.
