Serving Piece Measurements: 9 1/2" l x 8 5/8" w x 2 3/4" h Prolon dinnerware was introduced by the Pro-Pay-Lac-Tic Brush Company in the early 1950s. The company previously focused production on tooth brushes but decided to expand its horizons following Work War II when new types of plastics were popular, cheap and abundant in the US. Prolon ‘Florence’ dinnerware was designed by Irving Harper of the industrial design firm George Nelson Associates and made of Melmac plastic. It was advertised as a casual, durable, yet aesthetic dinnerware for easy living; a pitch that still rings true today.
