Rivense Full Honey

In January of 2023 we visited the Ureña family for the first time. This was the start of a truly wonderful friendship. At this point, we feel like seasoned friends. On our most recent visit, we stayed close to the family home and had our meals with the Ureña family. We were able to tour their farms (Chirripó and Reniser), see how they process the coffees, and cup those same coffees. It was a beautifully immersive experience! Regulo, his wife Isabella, and their 5 children are a lively bunch! The three eldest sons help run the coffee farms and process the coffee alongside Regulo. About 10 years ago, Regulo had a major shift in his approach to coffee farming. Previously, he had farmed his coffee in a traditional way: harvesting cherries and selling them to a mill to be processed and then exported.
