- A Broken Song - Where she went Isn't where I'm going Remembering the moments we spent flowing Through each other's minds Taking time To sing of the day's trivialities Make me miss her But she was in love with the west coast And I in love with her We said it was a mutual concurrence That distance would be the birth of deterrence But I lie every time I repeat those words We met when we were younger And we shared the same hunger Of red robins and running in the woods Days of escape to where the old willow stood Next to where the river ran She said you'll jump in and prove that you're a man Nights filled with pebbles hitting window panes We drove her daddy's car before we knew that lines marked the lanes Bright eyes with no sleep Living drunken dreams Hiding from sobriety Wishing sober days would never find me It was in those moments that we found each other Lovers of the light and lovers of the dark As we would harp On each other's breath Saying I'll be with you even through death A
