
Deep in the Forest - Polymer photogravure print -Private Release
There is a forest on the Oregon coast with a path that leads to Short Sands Beach. When making the hike through this primal wood I am often struck by how ancient and dark it feels. The trees are enormous and twisted and the undergrowth is lush. I had been wanting to photograph on this trail with a long time model I worked with at the time, on an afternoon in 2012 it came to be, This hand-pulled polymer photogravure print is made with Charbonnel carbon black, raw sepia, warm sepia, and a dab of sanguine inks, on Hahnemuhle Copperplate paper. I decided on a chine collé with Awagami Kitakata. and an edition of 8 numbered prints and 3 A/P prints. Hand made by Ray Bidegain Limited edition of 8 chine collé 6x 8 on an 11x15 sheet. Signed numbered and dated by the artist on the lower front.
