Soda Fired Mugs decorated with texture stamps including spirals and oak leaves. Soda fire glazing is a ceramics technique where pottery is fired with the addition of baking soda. This process creates unique, unpredictable surface effects, including varied colors, textures, and a glossy finish, resulting in distinctive and artistic pieces. My Soda fired pieces were fired in a gas kiln. The dots on the bottom of the pots are from the wadding used to keep the glaze created by the soda from fusing the pot to the kiln shelf.
