A group of Sandpipers and their reflections in shallow water on the beach.These little Sandpipers showed up on our beach on a quiet spring morning, making a quick stop on their way from South America to Canada. Their annual migration is truly amazing: researchers have found that they sometimes fly this route nonstop for six days - that's around 3,000 miles!They only stayed on our beach for a couple of days, but I spent a lot of time with them, trying to capture both their beauty as individuals and the abstract appearance of them as a group.My bird images are all traditional photographs, but I love the dreamlike quality of watercolors and have photographed and developed this image in such a way that it more closely resembles a watercolor painting than a photograph.PRINT DETAILSThe image is printed on matte archival cotton rag fine art paper with a 0.5” - 2” white border (depending on image size) and is signed on the border below the image.
