The zisha teapot is from the Grand Canyon zisha series made by Yu, a free potter based in Jingdezhen (check here to learn more about Yu). It features the ball shape, formed with zini (purple-red-brown clay mined from Yixing) primarily and coated with yet refined reddish clay (Hongpilong, a kind of precious clay currently in china ) then which includes a lot of minor unglazed white grains, making the teapot coarse and bumpy in hand, providing the textural and visual contrast. The overall design and double layers of zisha clay give the teapot a stylish and elegant appearance , allowing it to stand out from the currently overwhelming zisha teapots in the market. The teapot holds approximately 170ml of liquid with a multi-holes ball filter, making it suitable for large tea sessions.
