The first impression upon taking a bite is sweetness with a backdrop of tangy fruits and those dry spices. It isn't cinnamon or allspice or clove but this 3rd cousin once or twice removed. You know the family but can't place them. The acidity is pronounced and lends a wonderful juiciness. There is certainly some bitterness and astringency here in the form of citrus zest but it is fully in check, although leaning slightly to the bitter side due to the restrained chocolate level. This is pretty common or at least not uncommon in lighter criollo stock as these are. There are light hints of meyer lemon, peach and melon. There is also an indistinct nut flavor that is pretty pronounced. Last time I tasted peanut but not this time. This is an outlier that is either going to have you loving it or passing it by.
