Cat. #001615: HUGH LAURIE

Uncommonly early 3.5 x 5.5-inch black and white glossy portrait, looking characteristically mischievous and goofy, boldly signed in green felt-tip marker in the early 1990s.  In very good condition.  Laurie was a staple of British comedy programs for decades, famously teamed with Stephen Fry on Jeeves and Wooster (1990-1993) and A Bit of Fry and Laurie (1987-1995).  In 2004, he shifted to drama, to great critical acclaim, in the in the title role on House (2004-2012).  His character was inspired by the real-life Dr. Joseph Bell, the celebrated physician who also served as the basis for Sherlock Holmes.
