Accelerator Pedal Kick-Down Switch Genuine Mercedes

This is a genuine Mercedes-Benz Accelerator Pedal Kick-Down Switch. This part is located behind the accelerator pedal and sticks out about halfway from the carpet. The rest of the part is behind the carpet in a metal bracket that holds it in place. This switch is depressed when the gas pedal is pressed to the floor. A "click" of the switch is felt, and then it tells the transmission that a "kick-down" or downshift is needed. It is typically used for passing other vehicles and puts you in a better torque range to do so. The kick-down switch is easily replaced by removing the carpet to reveal the entire switch in the metal bracket. Next, you press on the two clips to remove it from the bracket and unplug the cable connected to the switch. Finally, follow these steps in reverse with your new kick-down switch, ensuring that the two clips snap into the bracket.
