Bethmännchen (Marzipan) Cookies

A traditional and widely popular German Christmas cookie (especially in Frankfurt), these splendid little morsels have a crunchy golden exterior- dotted with almonds and a soft chewy, tender interior.  Small and delicate, these cookies are perfectly sweet for an afternoon tea or matched with a strong espresso shot.
