11D Armored Reconnaissance Specialist (Scout) were the OG of the modern day Cavalry Scout (19D) and Infantry Recon (11B). These Bad Asses had to understand both Infantry and Armor Operations and are the predecessors to the modern day 19D Cavalry Scouts. Masters of mounted and dismounted reconnaissance 11D were also trained in calling and adjusting artillery fire, principles of camouflage, identify enemy personnel and their equipment, use of demolitions, and employ and maintain crew served weapons. Little known fact, 11D were the first to field Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) units during Vietnam.
