Velez Series 15" Tars and Bendirs

These drums are designed to be nimble and brilliant in tone.  We build them with a particularly thin shell, which both highlights the drum's complex overtones, and also makes the drum super light in weight. Versatility in holding positions is enabled by a deep arch grip that is cushioned for comfort and reduced fatigue. On the tar models, a rubber spline is mounted into a groove just behind the bearing-edge contact point - this softens the player's contact with the thin edge and dampens any undesirable brightness.   A decorative wood inlay adds to the these drums exceptional character.Please note: The inlays shown may be different than the inlay on your drum, since the selection of inlay material can vary on short notice.  15" diameter x 4 3/4" depth, THIN single-ply steambent Vermont Ash wood.
