Catena is the flagship winery for Argentina and their Chardonnay is the bar by which I measure all other Chardonnay's from that country. The fruit is sourced from several of their high altitude vineyards that produce ripe fruit with great character. Ripe pear, hints of pineapple and a lush creamy texture drive this wine. Only 20% new oak is used and this acts as a textural backdrop for the fruit never a flavor component. This is a crisp, refreshing and delicious wine. - GEOFF
