Brocade Pillow Class – Introduction to Rigid Heddle Weaving: March 9th, 2025

Join Dorothy for a wonderful class on how to weave using a Rigid Heddle Loom. Whether you've previously used a loom or never even touched a skein of yarn before, you'll love this class and the beautiful pillow cover that you create! Dorothy will take you from beginning steps to full-speed-ahead weaving in this one-session workshop. Learn how to prepare this simple loom for weaving, then learn basic and advanced techniques, including plain weave, brocade, twining, and soumak. Lastly, we will cover the methods for constructing your unique and personal pillow cover. Dorothy will provides yarns for dressing the loom; you will need to provide worsted-weight wool yarns in colors of your choice to match your décor. Looms are available on loan for the duration of the class and for participants to take home to complete the project. Looms will be available to purchase after the class.
