This large acorn jar was thrown on the pottery wheel, the lid was thrown separately and crafted to fit with the jar, then both were fired in the kiln at 2170°F. The clay is an ivory colored ceramic stoneware. The inside of the jar is clear glazed , and the outside of the jar has had different colored slips applied, giving the piece an earthy autumnal color.
