This planter was thrown on the pottery wheel and a grey slip was added. When it was dry enough to handle, the design was carved away using the sgraffito technique, revealing the dark brown clay underneath. It was finished by glazing with a clear coat, then fired in the kiln at 2170°F. The clay is a dark brown-black ceramic stoneware. H: 4.5"W: 6.5"D: 6.75"
