This mug was thrown on the pottery wheel, the handle was attached and the piece was finished by hand, then fired in the kiln at 2170°F. The clay is a sandy colored ceramic stoneware with dark speckles. The glaze was applied by hand, and has created a seascape design, like waves crashing on a pebble beach.
