This planter was thrown on the pottery wheel, then decorated with a black slip. When the piece was dry enough to handle, the mountain scene design was carved into the bowl, revealing the contrasting clay color underneath. It was then fired in the kiln at 2170°F. The clay is a warm ivory colored ceramic stoneware. H: 3"D: 5.75"W: 6.25"
