 Airmid’s (pronounced 'ahr-met’ or ‘ahr-ved’) is the Irish goddess of healing and herbalism. She and her brother Miach were one of the many children of Dian Cecht, a divine physician. Together, they tended a mystical well where the waters could restore body, mind, and spirit—reviving many injured warriors broken from battle. Airmid was no ordinary healer. Alongside her brother, they healed King Nuada, allowing him to fully reign once more. Though this miracle brought glory to Nuada and the Tuatha Dé, the act shamed their father, for they had surpassed his glory. In his rage, Dian Cecht challenged his son to a dual, and sadly Miach died by the hands of his father. From Miach’s grave, 365 healing plants sprouted—one for every affliction known to humankind. Airmid gathered them with care, laying each on her cloak in perfect order. But as she worked, her father struck again—tearing the cloak away and scattering the herbs to the wind.
