Baba Yaga

Baba Yaga is a renowned magical figure in Slavic folklore. Some say she's a hideous witch who eats naughty children. Others claim she's a wise woman who gives sage advice, her sternness but nurturing qualities giving way to the familiarities of an old grandmother. To some, she is a dark Goddess as ancient as the earth itself, hovering in a mortar and steering with her trusty pestle between the worlds of the living and the dead. She is most notoriously known for the home she resides in within the deep dark woodlands. Beneath the floorboards of her house protrudes two chicken legs, its feet wandering and roaming the forest floors to take its inhabitant where she's needed. When her abode finally sinks into the moist embrace of the earth, a macabre barrier of human skulls—remnants of those who once ventured too close—encircles her domain.
