With greater emphasis being placed on total water management, and the increased interest in attaining "zero liquid discharge" more attention is being given to cooling tower discharge in order to meet these goals. Since cooling tower discharge can constitute a significant portion of a plant's waste stream, many processes have been evaluated over the last couple of years with the objective of significantly reducing or completely eliminating this waste stream.
