Native American Hopi 78. Description: Fine polychrome bowl with traditional avian figures on the interior. Very good condition. 2-7/8" x 9-1/2". Stetson is a Hopi belonging to the Bear Clan, Mishongnovi, and has been active since 1980. He was born in 1962. He is the grandson of Roscoe Navasie, Agnes, Navasie and Josephine Setella; nephew of Enice Navasie and Perry Navasie, sone of Justin and Pauline Setella; brother of Given Setalla, Agnes Nahsonhoya, Dee Setalla, Justina Setalla, and Karen Namoki. He has been featured in Dillingham 1994:60-61 and he is also in the biographical databases of: Hope-Tewa Potters, Native American Resource Collection, Heard Museum, Phenoix; Artist Database, Museum of Indian Arts and Culture, Santa Fe. He consistently shows at major competitions and venues throughout the Southwest. Stetson is one of the few Hopi potters from Second Mesa.
