The Gauntlet

Ireland most definitely has some of the best bragging rights in Europe. There is simply an infinite number of beautiful (and unusual) landscapes throughout this country just waiting to be enjoyed by anyone that loves stunning scenery. The gangly Beech trees of The Dark Hedges create an unusual and striking composition. This photo has been on my bucket list for many years. Not sure of what lens I was going to need, I carried my full gear on the walk through the narrow walkway of this site. The trees enveloped me in a canopy of eeriness yet I felt elated to be there. This was truly one of the most unique places I have ever photographed. I felt as though I had been transported to a different world.
