They are found in the Eastern parts of United States. Although their horns aren't as impressive as their western counterpart(Dynastes grantii), their yellow coloration and long life span make them a popular beetle species to have as a pet. Primarily feeds on rotten hardwood or flake soil. Beetle larvae go through 3 different larval phases: L1, L2, and L3. After the L3 stage, the larva pupates to turn into an adult beetle!
