Drawing made by Charles Bargue from the plaster cast of the hand of Voltaire, certainly made by the sculptor Jean-Antoine Houdon during the death of the philosopher. The plate represents three progressive stages of the drawing: from the sketch of the simplified forms, to the completed drawing. The Bargue plate has been carefully restored before being printed in lithography at full-size and high-resolution, so that it can be made available to art students as it was originally in the 19th century. Printed on a 19th-century lithographic press, on grey-blue tinted fine art paper (350g). Ideal for charcoal or graphite pencil copying. Plate Size: 17 x 24"
