$65/bottle under the original label The Barossa Old Vine Charter was established in 2009 to provide formal designations of vine age for Barossa Valley's oldest vineyards. The designations are Old Vine (35+), Survivor (70+), Centenarian (100+) and Ancestor (125+). Lot 280 comes from the Lou Miranda Old Vine Shiraz program and is comprised entirely of Centenarian Vine Shiraz sourced from the families "Winery Church" Block planted in 1907. 115-years-old, head-pruned and dry-farmed, these gnarly, low-yielding old vines produce exceptionally intense fruit that has made critics swoon for decades. In fact, I purchased this wine previously for Cameron Hughes Lot 38 2005 100 Year Old Vine Shiraz and sold it all for $20 bottle back in 2007. Lot 38 was a legend in its time. The Lou Miranda bottling retails today in Australia for $65/bottle; however Lot 280 can be yours today for just $17/bottle. Trust me on this one folks, this is a stupid good deal. Less than 25 cases going into the Bottle Shop.
