Gerolyn's Turtles (half-dozen)

Sold by the half dozen The holidays are a time for warm and joyful memories of excitement around tables. I (Dee) have few memories as fond as the ones of the childlike delight with which my Tee Gerolyn opened a container of turtles. In fact, I can remember how excited she was to even ORDER a set of them (via mail order catalog, of course).  So when it came time to workshop holiday flavors this year, I opted to channel some of that joy into the season. They are delicious and an add that makes so much sense I can't believe it took us five holiday seasons to think to offer them. And I wish I could tell you I just added them for whimsy. I added them for comfort and joy. This is my family's first holiday season without my beloved Uncle Charles (my father's last living brother and my aunt's husband of nearly 45 years).
