Love Birds, Grey, Lap

The lap-size "Love Birds" quilt was a joy to create.  I loved making the "Flying Geese" blocks which are the triangles of pinks and magentas with the grey background. I love the irony of this block being a bird related block for a quilt that is all about birds. And I also found a gorgeous watercolor bird fabric at a Quilt Show in Portland, Oregon to be a focal point in the quilt. They both tie together perfectly.  I wanted this quilt to be a joyful addition to a living room or bedroom, which is why I chose the bright pinks, purples and magentas to balance out the pattern fabric of the birds and flowers.
