
Time- Lap Quilt
What started as a crib strip quilt top became transformed into a courthouse steps lap quilt. It was fun to cut out the strips and see what they would become. Once the top was completed I machine top-quilted down the centers of the strips. Once it was complete I stood back to look at it and couldn't help but notice the hourglass shape. It seemed to be saying to me to focus on my "time". The focus was on a baby quilt but has quickly developed into an adult quilt. How quickly time passes. This quilt is a reminder to take in your day with gratitude as time passes so quickly. Inside is a perfectly warm, heavy-weight cotton wool batting to keep warm on cold evenings. It also helps to highlight the top quilting. The binding is machine top-quilted for added strength. Created as a lap size 50”x 60” this is a perfect fit for fitting over your upper waist and feet. Finally, a throw that is big enough to actually keep you warm! It would be a great focal piece in a living room or draped over the fo
