Pioppino Mushrooms - 0.5 lbs

Description- Pioppino mushrooms are small to medium in size with convex to flattened caps connecting to thin, elongated stems. The firm, soft, and silky caps range in color from dark brown to light brown/gray growing darker towards the center. Underneath the cap, there are small gills connecting to the fibrous cream-colored stem that has a texture similar to asparagus.  All parts of this mushroom are edible. The stem can become a little more dense or woody as you get to the base. Slicing or chopping finer as you go will help give a more even texture while you cook.  Taste-  Pioppino mushrooms have a faint floral aroma and are meaty and crunchy with a nutty, slightly sweet, peppery, and earthy flavor.
