About the Collection This work is a 56-page collection of play-along videos, worksheets, and exercises originally put together to aid my own young bass student in reading music. It is organized into three sections. Table of Contents Part A – Six play-along videos that start with only open strings and progress to the 1st through thumb positions. Part B – 14 pages of photos and worksheets on bass clef notation on the fingerboard of the bass. Part C – 40 pages of reading exercises covering the 1st position up to the 7th position. About the Author Double bassist Michael Montgomery, a student of Robert Rohe (Principal Bass, New Orleans Symphony) and Lucas Drew (Principal Bass, Miami Philharmonic), earned his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in double bass performance from the University of Miami, played full-time in the bass section of the Florida Philharmonic Orchestra for two decades.
