Three Forks of Cheat: Traditional American for double bass and violin (arr. by Warren & Flick)
About the Arrangement This is an arrangement of a tune that my duo project, Warren & Flick plays! When I've been programming for my recitals in the past, I've always wished that there was more diversity in the chamber music available to us, so Grant and I decided to write this one down in case anyone wants to try it!The tune is fun and upbeat and is about three minutes long. It's an arrangement based on the traditional American fiddle tune called "Three Forks of Cheat." In Warren & Flick, I mostly play in solo tuning with a low E, so that's how this arrangement is written. The sheet music includes performance notes, two scores (one at pitch and one with the bass part down a whole step for easier reading), a violin part, and two bass parts (one at pitch and one a whole step down). We wrote out the music so that someone who just wants to read it down can totally do that, but if you'd like to improvise as we do, we've added the chord changes to sections that we normally improvise.
