INFORMATION TASTING NOTES VARIETIES I own Finca Massif! Well, sort of. My friend Luis Miranda, who formerly owned Finca Momoto with Aliss Hartmann in Panama, returned to his home country of Nicaragua and purchased two coffee farms, collectively known as Finca Massif. I invested, and currently own nineteen percent of the company. This coffee is the first harvest, an old-growth lot picked from catimor and a few typica trees left on a farm that had mostly gone fallow. Luis sun-dried all the coffee in a high climate over an extended period, adding layers of sweetness to a usually-undesirable variety. As these plants continue to produce, we’re anticipating future harvests of new plantations of Gesha and a few other upscale varieties he brought from Finca Momoto. Until then, enjoy the dregs.    PEACH     MARSHMALLOW     ALMOND CATIMOR   TYPICA
