The Minerals and Soils Analysis kit is designed to teach students how to use physical and chemical techniques to investigate crime scene samples such as soil, glass, dust, and metal traces. This kit includes various analyses, such as comparing acidity, particle sizes, and densities, as well as mineral analysis using wet chemistry. However, this kit requires additional equipment and supplies, including a fume hood, UV light, balance, microscope, oven/lamp/hot plate, glassware, and general lab supplies. It's important to note that this kit contains lead nitrate. It's designed for 24 students working in six groups of four and meets national standards for grades 9-12.
